Message from Vice Dean, Research

Dear Colleagues,

I hope that you are finding the Research section of the Engineering Newsletter useful. We have been working to improve communications, while not overloading colleagues with information. Moving forward we will include information about funding opportunities in the Newsletter and only use mass e-mails for items which have a short deadline. The Research section of the Engineering web page is also being updated. We now have information on current funding opportunities and recent awards. If you receive a grant or industrial research contract we would like to hear about it so please send us a short e-mail at vdr@utoronto.ca .

In the New Year our attention will be focused on the CFI call for proposals. The University has requested that expressions of interest be submitted via the Faculty by January 15th. This will allow the University Research Advisory board to have a complete picture of our CFI plans and enable the University to better support applications. If you are planning a CFI application I would be happy to discuss this with you.

Finally I would like to wish everyone a good holiday.  We look forward to working with you in the New Year.
