Yu-Ling Cheng Acclaimed Faculty Council Speaker for 2007-2008

chengFollowing a recent Call for Nominations, Yu-Ling Chend, a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, and former Chair of Engineering Science, has been acclaimed as the Speaker for the Faculty Council, the highest intra-Faculty legislative and judicial authority. In a nomination of Yu-Ling for the Leadership in Faculty Teaching Award (which she was recently awarded!), Yu-Ling is touted as an exemplar of all that U of T is and aspires to be. She is an outstanding educator, with a commitment to teaching excellence; a superb researcher in biomedical engineering; a mentor for students and colleagues alike; a leader in curriculum innovation; and a generous administrator with unwavering commitment. Yu-Ling is an award winning teacher; she has led one of the University’s flagship undergraduate programs, the Division of Engineering Science (EngSci), in new and exciting directions through her vision and commitment to curriculum change.
