Reminder: NSERC Strategic Project Grants – 2010 Competition

NSERC Deadline: April 15, 2010

The NSERC strategic competition provides an opportunity to get research funding for a long range project. The application does not require industrial research funds, however; it does need a letter of support from an industry partner who has a long term interest in the technology. This year the target areas are:

  • Advanced Communications and Management of Information
  • Biomedical Technologies
  • Competitive Manufacturing
  • Health Environment and Ecosystems
  • Quality Foods and Novel Bioproducts
  • Safety and Security
  • Sustainable Energy Systems (Production, Distribution and Utilization)

2010 National Aboriginal Arthritis Research Initiative (NAARI) – RFA

Deadlines:
March 16, 2010 - Registration of Interest
March 30, 2010 - Full Applications

The Canadian Arthritis Network (CAN) has issued an RFA for the National Aboriginal Arthritis Research Initiative (NAARI).
 
Funding available for this initiative involves individual strategic grants valued up to $100,000 per year for two years with annual matching cash/in-kind contributions of $25,000 per year.  Pilot grants are also available for a one time maximum payment of $50,000.
 
The Canadian Arthritis Network is a not-for-profit organization funded by the federal government’s Networks of Centres of Excellence program (www.nce.gc.ca) with a mission that includes empowering and maximizing arthritis R&D in Canada.  The membership includes leading Canadian arthritis researchers and clinicians, Canadian academic institutions and people living with arthritis.
