Neville Wesson

Neville Wesson is an Engineering alumnus who sets an outstanding example of personal service and commitment to the Faculty.

After completing graduate school, Neville joined AV Roe, where he worked on the Arrow. His assignment was to improve Arrow’s flying properties and provide a stable platform for the weapons system. While at AV Roe, he was selected as an AV Roe scholar. This opportunity allowed him to study for two years at the College of Aeronautics Cranfield, now Cranfield University in Britain.

Wanting to take on new challenges, Neville later joined IBM where he held a variety of technical and management positions, including director of systems engineering.

At U of T, Neville served on the Alumni Council for five years and later on the revamped Engineering Alumni Association Executive. Currently he is the driving force behind the 5T3 monthly lunch series. The luncheon is among one of U of T Engineering’s best examples of class camaraderie. Other achievements include:

  • Chair of Centennial Academy, 1980-1985
  • U of T Arbor Award, 2005
