A Message from Dean Cristina Amon

I am pleased to share with you our fourth annual report of performance indicators.

The report provides us with the metrics to assess progress in achieving our goals. It also highlights some of our key accomplishments over the past year, including our highest historical entrance average of incoming undergraduates; the increase of graduate students by 10.4 per cent to 1,842, taking us that much closer to realizing our goal of 2,000 graduate students by 2015; and our rise in the 2012 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) by six positions to 13th in the world. I am proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to what we will accomplish in the future.

Many of you attended the launch of our Engineering Boundless Campaign in September, your continued commitment to U of T Engineering is moving us ahead at a crucial time, and your support of our philanthropic effort ensures that we continue our boundless innovation, influence and impact.

This month we welcomed visitors from the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB). I would like to express my gratitude to all of you – faculty, staff and students – for your tremendous dedication and hard work in preparation for this accreditation visit.
