Awards & Accolades

In this issue, I am pleased to highlight some of our most respected professors, researchers, alumni, students and staff who have received research grants, early career awards and recognition for their exceptional leadership and dedication to the Engineering profession.

The Faculty continues to garner numerous awards, increasing our visibility as the premier engineering school in Canada and among the best in the world.

In order to continue in our excellence, we must critically reflect on our academic and administrative performance today and for our future. Our recently approved five year Academic Plan, developed by various stakeholders, includes strategies to increase academic diversity, collaborative research themes that impact society and objectives on building adequate facilities for our staff and students. With a strong understanding of our needs and those of our community, we can work towards solving the world's problems.

At the recent Engineering Alumni Association Awards Ceremony, we presented awards to distinguished alumni for their outstanding contributions to our profession and to our Faculty and students.

Our alumni continue to be broadly recognized. Consider this:

We are confident that our recent graduates will follow suit and build on the exceptional foundation you have established. Your success is well-deserved and a true reflection of your efforts, and your alma mater. For this and much more, I thank you.

Best regards

Cristina Amon
Dean
