Faculty Energy Research Showcase

Please mark Thurs, Jun. 19 in your calendars to attend the Faculty Energy Research Showcase. This event, which runs from 12:00-4:00 pm in the Bahen Centre, is an opportunity for faculty and graduate students who work in the area of Energy to showcase their research for representatives from industry and funding bodies, as well as their colleagues and peers. More details on this event will follow shortly.


Digital Media Research

The Office of the VP Research has been working on the development of a document that summarizes our research in digital media. A first draft of this document is available at here.

Information Session on Ontario’s International Strategic Opportunities Program (ISOP)

Panelists:  John Marshall, Director, and Lee Marsden, Senior Advisor Ministry of Research and Innovation, Government of Ontario

The program has been developed to:

  • Facilitate research of scientific importance
  • Increase Ontario's long-term economic potential
  • Attract and retain top international research talent
  • Enhance Ontario's profile in the international research community

Priority will be given to collaborations with researchers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, India and China.

Funding Opportunity from the U.S. Department of Energy

The U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science Financial Assistance Program has announced its continuing interest in receiving grant applications for support of work in the following program areas:

  • Basic Energy Sciences
  • High Energy Physics
  • Nuclear Physics
  • Advanced Scientific Computing
  • Fusion Energy Sciences
  • Biological and Environmental Research

Application Process

Full proposals must be submitted through the GRANTS.GOV website. A completed RIS Blue Form and supported documentation should be submitted to Chris Takenaka in the office of the Vice-President, Research, prior to online submission. An overhead rate of 44.3% should be factored into any cost estimates.

Application Due Date: Sept. 30, 2008
