Faculty Council Update

At the May 28 Faculty Council Meeting, the Council approved Degree Level Expectations for Graduates Receiving the Degree of Bachelor of Applied Science and Degree Level Expectations for Graduates Receiving the Degree of Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science, once that degree program has been approved by University governance.

As part of its Quality Assessment Framework, the Province of Ontario requires all first-entry programs in Ontario universities to provide degree level expectations by the end of June 2008. The Faculty’s responses reflect current practice as described in the our Academic Calendar, and have been reviewed by the Provost’s Office, the Curriculum Committee and the Executive Committee of the Faculty Council.

Faculty Council also approved revisions to the Infrastructure Option of Engineering Science (cover / proposal), which will: provide a stronger foundation in third year, with a better balance between structures and transportation; reposition the capstone design course; group electives to allow students to specialize in fourth year; and implement a new link with Architecture.
