Message from Dean, Cristina Amon

Engineering at U of T continues to respond to change in the global knowledge-based economy and contribute to the world’s technological innovation with our research.  To ensure global prosperity and progress, it is crucial that we share our knowledge within our community and beyond. In the past year, our Faculty received more than 138 top research awards and grants in recognition of outstanding research, innovative projects, and professional contributions, which were celebrated at our Celebrating Research Success event, and we shared our research initiatives in Energy with members of industry, government and the community at the Faculty Energy Research Showcase.

On behalf of the Faculty, I would like to thank our professors, students, staff, alumni and the Engineering community at U of T for your commitment to excellence in our research and education.  This has been a remarkable year for our Faculty, and I was delighted to see many of you share in the success of our research and innovation at our events.

In our next Engineering Newsletter, we will highlight “A Year in Review,” a culmination of numerous contributions made by staff, students, faculty, and the community, as well as gather input on the Globalization Task Force report. We hope this will energize us for another year of outstanding accomplishment and serve as a reminder of all of the exceptional contributions our Faculty has lead in the past year. Best wishes to you all for an enjoyable holiday weekend.
