New Appointments

 




Nicole Adoranti, Admissions Officer and Undergraduate Counsellor, Years 1 and 2
Division of Engineering Science

Before assuming her role as Admissions Officer and the Undergraduate Counsellor for Engineering Science students in their first and second year of study, Nicole worked at the U of T Career Centre. Previously, she has worked in health research and held various counselling positions at the National Ballet School and York University. Nicole's new role, which began in June, includes counselling students, admissions support throughout the admissions cycle, supporting curriculum delivery for Engineering Science and providing administrative support for the Division's Academic Function.


Colin AndersonColin Anderson, Communications and Student Programs Coordinator
Department of Civil Engineering


In June 2008, Colin joined the Department of Civil Engineering as the new Communications and Student Programs Coordinator. In his new position, Colin will be responsible for helping the Student Services team in daily operations, coordinating student programs, advising students on program regulations, developing seminars and workshops, maintaining the Civil Engineering website and overseeing awards, scholarships and funding. Before joining U of T, Colin was a Program Coordinator and Staff Writer at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay.


Hilda Jerina, Student Services Assistant
Department of Civil Engineering


In Hilda's new role, which she assumed in June, she will assist with student inquiries to both undergrad and graduate studies in Civil and Mineral Engineering. Hilda will also provide assistance in event planning and implementation, program recruitment and alumni relations. Before joining the Department of Civil Engineering, Hilda worked in Department administration, event coordination, and high school and graduate recruitment for the Computer Science Department, Bell University and IPSI, University of Toronto.

 


Steve MiszukSteve Miszuk, Director, Planning and Infrastructure
Office of the Dean

The position of Director, Planning and Infrastructure, is a new role in the Faculty, necessitated by the increasing complexity of managing our physical space. As the Director of Planning and Infrastructure for the Faculty, Steve will be involved in a comprehensive review of the Faculty's space, including its usage and quality, in order to prepare medium-range plans for the renewal of our research, administrative and teaching infrastructure. Steve is a graduate of the Faculty's Civil Engineering program and has had extensive work experience within the University of Toronto. His most recent role was as the Senior Project Manager with U of T's Department of Capital Projects.


Deborah PeartDeborah Peart, External Relations Liaison
Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry

Deborah arrived in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry with extensive experience at U of T. Prior to joining the Department, Deborah was the Advancement Assistant in the Faculty's Office of Advancement. She has also worked as an Information Services Officer in the Division of University Advancement and a Study Elsewhere and Exchange Officer in the Faculty of Arts and Science. As the External Relations Liaison, Deborah will provide assistance with Lectures at the Leading Edge, advancement, student recruitment and more.




Lisa RomkeyLisa Romkey, Assistant Chair
Division of Engineering Science


Lisa has been appointed Assistant Chair in recognition of her leadership role in matters of curriculum, teaching, learning and student development for the Engineering Science program. Lisa is the Lecturer in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning for the Engineering Science program; she teaches a course in the praxis series and a graduate course in education, and manages several divisional projects related to education and the student experience.




Anitta Satkunarajah, Student Leadership Development Officer
Leaders of Tomorrow


As the Student Leadership Development Officer for the Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) program, Anitta will support LOT in creating and maintaining an innovative and interactive Faculty-wide student leadership development program, which includes organizing collaborative cross-faculty programming initiatives. Anitta has a background in residence and student life from the University of Waterloo and McMaster University. She is passionate about student leadership development and is currently pursuing an Education degree at Brock University and a Student Affairs and Services program at Seneca College.
