New Program and Degree Aimed at Engineers in Business

To address the world's complex and changing needs, the Faculty has added valuable new courses and programs to benefit Engineering students and Engineers who are interested in enhancing their careers and getting a competitive edge.

Geared to Engineers who want to take leadership roles, the Faculty offers a series of Engineering graduate courses called Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Innovation and Technology in Engineering (ELITE), which was featured in the U of T Bulletin earlier this year. Read the article.

The nine ELITE courses complement existing leadership curricula and programming offered by the Faculty and include topics from Entrepreneurship and Business for Engineers to Leadership and Leading in Groups and Organizations. The new courses are integrated into the existing Master of Engineering (MEng) program, which requires nine to 10 graduate-level courses to complete. Two to four ELITE courses can be part of any MEng program. A student who completes four or more ELITE courses will receive a certificate acknowledging the achievement.

Additionally, ECE now offers a unique MEng degree opportunity that can be completed in 12-24 months. The nine-course program provides a unique opportunity for fast track advanced study that is geared to professional practice. The program is designed for Engineers who want to accelerate their careers with a mix of Engineering business skills and advanced Engineering knowledge.
